Hashim Akib, is contemporary acrylic painter celebrated for his bold brushwork, rich colour palettes, and dynamic depictions of urban life and portraiture. His journey into the art world began with more than fifteen years as a professional illustrator, during which time he worked for clients such as The Times, Daily Express, Daily Mail, Time magazine, The New Yorker, and even produced a Royal Mail stamp.
Transitioning from illustration into fine art, Akib developed a distinctive, expressive style that has become his signature. Working almost exclusively in acrylics, he paints with thick, impasto layers and loose, blocky strokes that retain the vitality of each brush mark. His subjects often range from bustling street scenes and urban landscapes to wildlife and intimate portraits, all rendered with vibrant contrasts and emotional impact.
